Magick
Words have the power to stir the heart, stimulate the mind, inspire hope, dispel fear and instill confidence. Words misunderstood or misinterpreted also have the power to wreak havoc, death, and destruction.
It is with a great respect for the power of these tiny clumps of letters that I address myself to a subject near and dear to my heart; magick.
Hopefully, in the process of shining a true and honest light on the reality of magick and the beauties of living a magical lifestyle some of the common misconceptions and stereotypes will gradually fade away in time.
The first thing you should know about magick is that it is a natural phenomenon. It is true that magick is usually regarded as supernatural but so very much more exists in nature, science, and the universe than we know of. Mysterious phenomena are frequently characterized as “supernatural” or even occult simply because we cannot explain it. Although Quantum physicists have begun to uncover the scientific underpinnings of the most baffling questions regarding time, space, and paranormal phenomena, the truth is, I cannot offer you any hard scientific “proof” for the existence of magick. It is, nonetheless, a very real and potent force as we wizards, witches and magick folk have always known.
The second thing you should know is that magick is a force that is neither good nor evil. It is an impersonal energy not unlike electricity or gravity, for example. As with most things in life, what makes a thing good or bad is mostly the use to which it is put and the intent behind that use. For example, a razor-sharp knife is nothing more than a tool. It is neither inherently good nor bad. In the hands of a killer that knife becomes a deadly weapon. That same blade in the hands of a skilled surgeon becomes a tool to save lives. It is the same with magick.
Contrary to popular stereotypes the majority of folks out there who use magick are blessed individuals of good character and a kindly nature. They use the forces at their command to help, to heal and to protect life on this planet. Not just human life, mind you, but all living things. These individuals honor the life force of all creatures we are privileged to share the earth with.
The people who have learned how to manipulate and direct this mysterious natural force we call magick are known by many different names. Most stereotypes are erroneous and based on negative propaganda, ignorance, and fear.
The time has come to shed light and reason on these much-misunderstood topics. Join me as we explore the fascinating world of magic, magic workers and living a magickal life!
